Moving to Crawfordsville from Chicago in 1929 the Apex Stamping Company was the Cities newest industry.
A complete line of toys of wood and metal composition was produced here with markets confined largely to chain 10 cent store organizations. New developments in higher priced toys and novelties that retailed up to $10.00 were being added in 1929. The most modern automatic machinery was used for this era. Much of the work was developed in the plant for special operations. This was a $100,000 corporation employing 100 men and women and became a strong factor in the American Toy business. It was considered one of the most modern and completely equipped plants for its time in the country.
