Strawberry ice cream and booths full of goodies

Bright red decorations and no winter hoodies

Vendors that show up and people who sing

These are a few of my favorite things . . .

With all due apologies to Julie Andrews and the von Trapp family . . .

Old antique tractors and pink cotton candy

They'll help you, they'll serve you with whatever's handy

Preachers on circuit like they had real wings

These are a few of my favorite things . . .

Can't you just hear the Austrian pride taking a beating . . .

Strawberry Queens are such pretty lasses

Delicious foods and drinks in red glasses

Softballs all flying and bats that go ping

These are a few of my favorite things . . .

Big finish now . . . .

When the wind blows

When the rain falls

Then I'm feeling sad

I simply get out my umbrella and wring

And then I don't feel so bad . . .

It's time for Crawfordsville's stellar event, the annual Strawberry Festival. We'll have folks coming back to town for visits and surely some coming here for the first time. Either way, the red carpet (hey, is that a coincidence!) will be out and everyone will put their best foot forward. It's one of those times a year when Crawfordsville really shines.

Everything gets going Friday. Let's all knock on wood and hope Ma Nature smiles on us for a few days. See you at Lane Place!
