  • Happy Golden Anniversary, Mr. and Mrs. Purcell!

    Doug and Martha Purcell of Linnsburg will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house on Friday, Feb. 5 at Eastside Baptist Church from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. The couple kindly requests the omission of gifts. “Your presence is their gift,” they said.

    Mr. and Mrs. Purcell were married on Feb. 4, 1966 by Justice of the Peace Larry Kadinger in his home.

  • Andy and Karen Biddle are celebrating 45 years of marriage. They were married on January 23, 1971 at the Mellot United Church of Christ. Karen was from rural Veedersburg and Andy was a native of Waynetown.

    Bill and Doyne Hepburn, formerly of Darlington, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Tuesday.

  • Couple to celebrate 50 years

    Ray Seale and Patricia Kidwell were married Aug. 15, 1965 in the First Christian Church in Sullivan, Ill. The couple met in Wheaton, Ill. where she taught at Wheaton High School and he taught at Wheaton College. They will celebrate their 50th anniversary with family in Sullivan on Aug. 15.

    Nancy and Frank Powers of Crawfordsville celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on July 16.

    They were married in 1965 at the New Market First Baptist Church.

  • Couple celebrate 50 years

    Jim and Nancy Monroe of Crawfordsville celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on May 22.

    They were married at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in 1965.

    Jim is retired from R&R Ward Farms. Nancy is retired from Walmart DC 6028.

    Jim and Nancy have three children, Scott (Lisa) Monroe of Lafayette, Terri (Randy) Verhey of Darlington and Patti (Aaron) Utz of Darlington. They have six grandchildren.

    Their children will hold an open house on June 13 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Crawfordsville District Public Library.

  • Couple celebrate golden anniversary

    Jim and Jill Jarvis will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house on May 23.

    The couple exchanged vows May 24, 1965 in the home of the Reverend Eddie Bamish in New Ross. They are the owners of Mom and Pop's Party Shop.

    They are the parents of Brad (Sara) Jarvis and Kathy Smith. The couple have 2 grandchildren, Jacob and Emily Jarvis.

    An open house celebration will take place at Mom and Pop's Party Shop on May 23 starting at 2 p.m. Omission of gifts is requested.

  • Bradshaws celebrate 50 years
    Jim and Sandy Bradshaw will celebrate 50 years of marriage on Dec. 31.

    Jim retired from R. R. Donnelley's after 44 years. Sandy is a kitchen supervisor at North Montgomery High School for the North Montgomery School Corporation.

    They were married in Colfax at Jim's parents' home on Dec. 31, 1964 by Rev. Strappazon.
