A business meeting was held Monday, Jan. 2, 2017 in a meeting room at the Crawfordsville Public Library with Maggie Bryant residing. The meeting began with the opening verse followed by announcements of birthdays and anniversaries. Pam Karle gave the treasurer’s report which was approved as read. The minutes from December were approved as printed. The only correspondence requiring action was to form a nominating committee. Maggie Bryant, Naomi Horton, and Wendy Schmitzer-Torbert agreed to help with that committee. There was no correspondence not requiring action.
In old chapter business, it was stated that we will have the “I Love Art” event on Saturday, Feb. 4, 2017 at the Carnegie Museum from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. The tickets will be $30 and Ann Stanley will be the attending artist. Jennifer Slavens briefly discussed the “Not Your Mother’s” charity ball. Naomi Horton agreed to keep the freezer that was bought in October to store extra cheeseballs. It was also stated that applications for new members need to be turned in to Michelle Dice before the February meeting.
In new business, Pam Karle agreed to be the chairperson for the Strawberry Festival Committee. Maggie Bryant and Angie Griggs agreed to help with the committee.
Committee reports were given. For Cards and Flowers, Pam Karle stated that she had not sent out cards for December. A few of the members gave names of people that needed to receive a card. For Patrons, Nancy Buckles said that patron letters were sent out. For Everyone Reads, Tamara Hemmerlein stated that Everyone Reads will take place on Saturday, March 11, 2017 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. She also stated that setup would be Friday, March 10, from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. For Cheeseballs, Michelle Dice said that she still has some cheeseballs and spreads left. Pam Karle said that she also has at least 60 left.
The meeting was adjourned following the closing verse. The next business meeting will be held on Monday, Feb. 6, 2017 at the Crawfordsville Public Library at 7 p.m.
