A Crawfordsville man was arrested Saturday morning stemming from an assault that took place just before 3 a.m. at Milligan Park.

Crawfordsville Police Chief Mike Norman said that Jeremy Kader of 910 Ray St. was arrested at 5:13 a.m. and charged with a Class C Battery causing serious injury and Class C Battery with a deadly weapon. As of 4:15 p.m. Monday, Kader was still in the Montgomery County Jail with a $10,000 surety, $5,000 cash bond.

"The victim called in at 2:44 a.m. and said he was assaulted at Milligan Park," Norman said.

Norman would not identify the victim, saying they are still investigating the case. The victim was taken to the emergency room for further treatment, Norman said.

The cause of the incident is also still under investigation.

Norman did say that the victim did know Kader.

"It appears they were acquaintances," Norman said.

He also would not elaborate on what Kader and the victim were doing at Milligan Park at 2:44 a.m.
