Tickets are now on sale for the Animal Welfare League's third annual Comedy Night.
This year's night of laughter will feature a new comic, Animal Welfare League Board Member and Event Chair Anne Lovold said. Dan Chopin is scheduled to perform at the Crawfordsville Country Club Saturday, Nov. 17 at 8 p.m.
Tickets are $25 each or $160 for a table of eight. A buffet dinner is available from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. for an additional $12.95.
"All proceeds will go to the shelter," Lovold said. It goes to keep it running and for medicine."
Tickets are available now at the country club, the Animal Welfare League, or by contacting any AWL board member, Lovold said.
Board President Janice Houston said that the whole community is invited.
"It give the community an opportunity to come out and support us," she said.
Comedy Night is one of the biggest fund-raisers for the Animal Welfare League, Lovold said. They also have Stroll for Strays in May each year.
Houston said they are always in need of donations.
Lovold said that the shelter can hold up to 200 animals at a time. She said that they usually have between 60 and 125 animals on hand every day.
"We have kennels that people don't see," Lovold said.
