Hoover Elementary partnered with Chartwells K12 to celebrate Inclusion Week on Feb. 9. Inclusion Week focuses on five central themes to help students recognize individual abilities that can create positive change within their community. One of these themes is appreciation, and Hoover students wrote “Thank you” notes to Crawfordsville area veterans. Sergeant First Class (Ret.) S. David Long accepted the notes presented by the Discover Club on behalf of the community’s veterans. Chartwells K12 provided Hampton Creek cookies as a gift. In return, SFC Long presented the group with a bundle of camouflage pencils courtesy of the local National Guard unit and thanked them for remembering local veterans. Marci Galinowski, principal of Hoover Elementary, stated that SFC Long visits the students often and is a great role model for the students.
