Northbound lanes of 231 closed at bridge

The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) has announced the northbound lanes on the U.S. 231 bridge over Sugar Creek closed on Friday and reopen on Monday by 3 p.m. The contractor will be pouring the bridge deck approaches along with a new surface in the driving lane on the northbound bridge. Traffic will be detoured west onto U.S. 136 (Market Street) then north on Lafayette Avenue and back to U.S. 231 in Crawfordsville.
Schutt-Lookabill Co., Inc. was awarded the bridge deck overlay project on U.S. 231 for $1.4 million. The project is scheduled for completion on Aug. 31 of this year.
