Stay right at home for a Night Out
Tuesday, July 02, 2013 10:00 PM
Montgomery County is once again set to participate in the National Night Out. On August 6 neighborhoods throughout Montgomery County are invited to join forces with thousands of communities nationwide for the 30th Annual National Night Out. This will be Montgomery County's second year participating. Last year an estimated 500 people attended.
This year, the event will take place at Milligan Park from 6 to 9 p.m.
There will be many local non-profits, the Crawfordsville Police and Fire Departments, the Montgomery County Sheriff Department, businesses, churches, and others with booths and games making the evening a special one for kids and their families.
Event organizers are looking for businesses and organizations that would be willing to participate in the event by having a booth with information about their organizations, a game for the kids to play, and/or some small give-a-ways. If you are interested, please contact Jane Christophersen at 362-0694 ext. 13.
National Night Out is a completely free event, and is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness; strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and send a message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are strong and are fighting back against localized crime.
During the event, the community will be able to enjoy free swimming at the Park Pool from 6 to 7:30 p.m., free food at the South Shelter, free jumps in a bounce house, corn hole, several games, give-a-ways, music, and more.
Questions about this event can be directed to either the Youth Service Bureau at 362-0694 or Community Partners at 918-0271.
