Mrs. Haas and Mrs. Lain's reading classes participated in the I Love to Read Challenge sponsored by WISH-TV, Teacher's Credit Union, Meijer, and the Indianapolis Children's Museum.

Middle school students were challenged to read 2,500 minutes during the months of January and February. Of the over 40,000 students in central Indiana who participated, approximately 4,200 met the goal. Those students were entered in a grand prize drawing to receive a $500 Visa card. Classrooms could also compete by reading a classroom average of 1,000 minutes.

While Tuttle didn't have an individual winner, Mrs. Lain had one of the classroom winners, and she received a $250 gift card from Meijer. Twenty-five of her qualifying students were chosen at random to attend the awards ceremony at the Indianapolis Children's Museum on April 23.
