Margaret Lois Miles, 91, of Crawfordsville passed away Tuesday night at American Village Health in Indianapolis.

Mrs. Miles was born Nov. 5, 1922, in Parke County, to Jesse and Bertha Moore Taylor. She was a 1940 graduate of Bridgeton High School.

She married Herbert L. Miles on June 10, 1949, in Crawfordsville. He passed away Oct. 21, 2013.

She worked as a seamstress for Wilson Bros. Shirt Factory and later made draperies for The Emporium.

Mrs. Miles was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women's Circle V. She was also a member of Extension Homemakers U & I. She also enjoyed gardening and cooking.

Survivors include; her son, Gary Miles of Indianapolis; granddaughter, Jessica Miles of Indianapolis; brother, Ralph Taylor of Terre Haute; two sisters, Dorothy Harmless of Rosedale and Rosemary Wakefield of Anderson.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth Taylor and Glen Taylor.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Burkhart Funeral Home, Crawfordsville. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Burkhart Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Renick officiating. Following the service, she will be laid to rest next to her husband at Oak Hill Cemetery South.
