Mary E. Hunt, 68, of Crawfordsville, formerly of Marshall, passed away peacefully at home Friday morning after battling cancer for more than a year.

Mrs. Hunt was born Oct. 22, 1945, in Empire, Ala., the daughter of Alfred Dockins and Georgia Roberts Dockins.

She graduated from Veedersburg High School.

She married Donald Wayne Hunt in 1962 and he passed away March 10, 2002.

Mrs. Hunt worked as a cashier at the Kroger in Crawfordsville for many, many years and was well-known and well-liked. She retired from there. She was a member of the Marshall Federated Church and Eastern Star.

Survivors include two grandsons, Paul David Hunt, Jr. and Donald Wayne Hunt II; a brother, Gary (Katy) Dockins; and two sisters, Edith Bennett and Betty Smith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, William Alfred Hunt and Paul David Hunt; her brother, Eugene "Sonny" Dockins; and three sisters, Nella Dean Pridemore, Linda Sharon Dockins and Evelyn Jones.

There will be no public visitation or services. Her family will hold a private service at the Poplar Grove Cemetery, near Marshall. Arrangements were entrusted to Burkhart Funeral Home, Crawfordsville.
