Mayor praises work of Love Week

I would like to thank the many volunteers from Rock Point Church, First Baptist Church and Harvest Fellowship who gave so much of their own time and resources recently to help improve our community.
During the week of July 21st volunteers participated in Love Week and during that time volunteered to clean up areas of the community that needed attention as well as complete tasks that had gone undone do to a lack of funding or resources. Much needed work was completed in our parks and neglected properties in our neighborhoods were cleared of debris, mowed and trimmed. In addition, block parties were held in different neighborhoods and parks.
Their efforts have shown immediate results as these areas now reflect the pride that exists in our community rather than effects of neglect and empathy. This serves as a shining example of what is so great about this community. The people of Crawfordsville and Montgomery County care and are willing to give of themselves to help improve things. We are blessed with many groups and individuals who care and are willing to serve. The momentum for positive change is increasing thanks to efforts such as those of the churches and volunteers during Love Week.
Again, on behalf of the City of Crawfordsville and the citizens of this community I say thank you for a job well done!
Todd D. Barton, Mayor
City of Crawfordsville
