What We Think: U.S. 231 needs attention
Thursday, June 14, 2012 6:00 AM
There have been 25 fatalities along U.S. 231 since 2003, according to information supplied by the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT.)
That is serious by anyone's estimation.
Some have been teenagers who may have gone to prom but won't graduate from college or take home their first real paycheck from a real full time job. They won't look into the eyes of their children and they won't get to experience the joys their friends look forward to in their adult years.
The Paper believes this is a subject that bears investigation by State agencies and should be seriously considered by any and all agencies and departments trusted with the safety of those who travel U.S. 231.
We hope that today's report helps shine a light on what's become a deadly problem.
