The Southmont girls' golf team got another solid team performance and another outstanding performance from their No. 1, Heather Ruby. Southmont shot a 188 to beat Greencastle (202) and Cascade (214). Ruby was medalist with a 40.

"It was the first home match for us and I'm very proud of the scores that came in tonight," head coach Kayla Cooper said. "Heather Ruby was low medalist and Beth and Stazia came in with great scores tonight. We will continue to improve on our short game on and around the green."

Beth Bielecki also broke 50 with a 48. Natalee Brann and Stazia Mikalik each shot a 50.

Southmont returns to action Tuesday at home against South Vermillion and Cloverdale.
