The seventh inning is where it all went wrong for the Crawfordsville softball team. Leading 6-5, they allowed four Fountain Central runs and could not come back. The final was 9-7.

Crawfordsville cruised for much of the game behind a strong outting from Kassidy Bonebrake and timely hitting. The Mustangs still did not hit the ball hard, even in their comeback. The go ahead run scored on a blooper that looped just inches about the first baseman's glove.

Crawfordsville loaded the bases in the bottom of the seventh with only one out and scored a run when Alexis Rhoda was hit by a pitch. They could do no more damage however and left the bases loaded.

"We did a good job of getting back and having the tying runs on base and the winning run on first base," said head coach Brian Norris. "All we needed was a ball hit in the gap someplace and we might have been able to pull it out. We're going to keep plugging away. If we hit the ball and play well we are just as good as a lot of teams"

Crawfordsville falls to 1-12 on the year and will look for a win tonight at home against Danville.
