Five Montgomery County tennis girls were named to the honorable mention All-State teams this year. Crawfordsville's top singles player, Hannah Chalmers, was named as an individual.

Two doubles pairs made it was well. Crawfordsville's Kassidy Bonebrake and Lizzy Katzenberger were named, as were Breanna Hampton and Hannah O'Brien from North Montgomery.
Chalmers, Bonebrake, Hampton and O'Brien are all seniors. Katzenberger is a sophomore.
The Athenians and Chargers finished first and third in the Sagamore Athletic Conference, respectively. Crawfordsville went on to win the sectional championship for a third straight year, defeating North Montgomery in the championship.
Hampton and O'Brien went a perfect 6-0 in conference play this year despite the team's third place finish.
The Athenians were also honored with a pair of academic All-State recipients. Those nods went to Chalmers and Kristen Albrecht, both seniors.
"It's a great honor for those two girls," said head tennis coach and Crawfordsville athletic director Bryce Barton. "They are exceptional students, ranking first (Albrecht) and third (Chalmers) in their class. For them to do equally as well in the classroom as they do on the tennis court is something they should be very proud of."
