Threat of severe weather causes events to be delayed

First it was snow, now it's the rain.
Sporting events involving Montgomery County teams were once again affected by the weather. Last night, three varsity events were postponed because of severe thunderstorm watches and warnings.
North Montgomery softball was scheduled to travel to Fountain Central, but the game was called. Both North Montgomery and Crawfordsville had intentions of playing tennis as well. The Chargers were slated to go to Mooresville and the Athenians were going to host Lafayette Central Catholic. Alas, none of it was to be and the athletes and coaches will attempt to get games in tonight.
Many teams, such as the Athenian tennis team, have yet to compete in their first contest of the year because of spring break and postponements.
Make-up dates for the postponed events have not been announced. There are eight events scheduled for tonight. Three of them are set to take place in Montgomery County, including North Montgomery tennis at Crawfordsville.
You can find a list of scheduled events through Monday on page A5. There is also a comprehensive schedule of all events planned for this month on our website at
