DOVER- Crawfordsville cruised to a conference victory against Western Boone Tuesday night. The Athenians ten-run-ruled the Stars 13-1 in five innings.
Crawfordsville proved to be far better in every aspect of the game than their opponents last night. Caden Jones, Chase Dowell, and Payten Abney all had home runs in this game. Dowell was first to hit one in the first inning. Jones had already drove in Trent Johnson to go up in the game and the two run homer put them up by three after one. The very next inning, Payten Abney hit one out to bring in three more runs. The team would end up scoring eight runs in the second inning. In the top of the third, Johnson was the first to score for his team in the inning by stealing home off an error by the Western Boone’s shortstop. To add insult to injury, Jones came up to the plate and hit yet another one out over the fence to give Crawfordsville the 13-1 lead. Chase Dowell pitched the majority of the game for the Athenians, only allowing two hits and striking out eight Stars in the process.
Crawfordsville (10-2, SAC 3-0) plays Western Boone again Thursday, this time at home.
