ROCKVILLE- Southmont’s girl’s tennis team traveled to Rockville Thursday evening. The Mounties defeated their opponents 4-1.
After a 30 minute rain delay, South showed a dominant performance in this victory. Leading the way for the Mounties was number one singles senior Kennady Black. She won her match in two quick sets 6-2, 6-1. Number two singles Cora Waddell also won her match 6-2, 6-1. Both Southmont doubles teams were victorious as well. Kelly Tucker and Hope Lighty won their match in two dominant sets 6-0, 6-2. Katie Rosentreter and Sophie Reimondo, number two doubles, won their first set easily and clutched up in the second one 6-1, 7-5.
Southmont is now 3-2 (SAC 0-1) on the season and will play again Monday against South Putnam.
