Richard L. Williams, 73, of Crawfordsville and formerly of Oxford, Miss., died unexpectedly at 5:30 p.m. Monday in Franciscan St. Elizabeth Hospital, Crawfordsville, following a brief illness. Arrangements are incomplete at Family & Friends Funeral Home of Wingate.

Richard W. Kenyon Aug. 15, 1924-Dec. 12, 2014
Richard W. Kenyon, 90, passed away Friday afternoon at Coventry Meadows Senior Living facility in Fort Wayne surrounded by family members.

Mr. Kenyon was born on Aug. 15, 1924 in Waynetown to Clayton and Sopha (Smith) Kenyon. He was a 1943 graduate of Waynetown High School, where he also played basketball.

He was a proud veteran, serving in the Navy aboard the USS Enterprise, the most decorated ship of World War II, from August 1943 through February 1946. During this time, the Enterprise was active in the Pacific Theatre, including the battles of the Philippine Sea, Leyte Gulf, Iwo Jima, and Okinawa. After the war, he remained on board the Enterprise for Operation Magic Carpet, bringing soldiers home from the Europe. He was a past President and member of the Board of Directors of the USS Enterprise Association.

He was employed by R.R. Donnelley's and Sons as a proofreader, retiring March 1, 1987 with over 40 years of service. His memberships included the American Legion - Post 72, Elks Club, and the Masonic Lodge.

June Carol Rhoads June 4, 1936-Dec. 12, 2014
Ms. June Carol Rhoads, Crawfordsville, passed away Friday at 11:13 a.m., in the Franciscan-St. Elizabeth Crawfordsville Hospital. She was born June 4th, 1936, in Cates, to Elbert and Norvella (Campbell) Clodfelder.

Ms. Rhoads was a Homemaker; a graduate of Cates High School; and attended the New Market Christian Church.

She is survived by her son Larry (Polly) Rhoads, Crawfordsville; her sister; Joan Nolen, Covington; grandchildren Kayla Rhoads, who also was her caretaker; Lacey Ogle; Kristopher Rhoads; and a great grandchild Julien Ogle.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother David Clodfelder; and her sister Barbara Lenover.

A public graveside service is scheduled for 3 p.m. Thursday in the Indian Creek Hill Cemetery. No visitation services will be held. Wilma Maxine (Hubble) Bell Dec. 14, 1935-Dec. 13, 2014
Wilma Maxine Bell, 78, of Crawfordsville, passed away Saturday at Franciscan St. Elizabeth Health in Crawfordsville.

Mrs. Bell was born on Dec. 14, 1935 to William and Jewell (Witty) Hubble in Montgomery County. She attended Ladoga, Crawfordsville and Wallace schools. She was married to Ralph Bell.

Mrs. Bell had worked at Hoosier Crown, Hyster, Hi Tech and Robintech in New Ross. She loved planting flowers, sewing and the computer.

Survivors include two children, son Richard C. Bell of Rapid City, SD and daughter Brenda (Mark) Needham of New Ross; four granddaughters, Darlynn (Ty) Evans of Rapid City, Heather (Rob) Kelley of Shelbyville, Lauren (Andy) Godwin of Wingate and Brooke (Jeff) Wagoner of Hillsboro; two grandsons, Nathan (Monique) Bell of Rapid City and Derek Harvey of New Ross; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Four siblings, Delores Bland, Vorris Hubble, Vivian Miller and Carl Hubble, her husband Ralph Bell and long-time companion Jim Wilson preceded her in death.

Cremation was chosen, and private family services will take place at a later date.

Vernon Dale Griffin Jan. 6, 1954-Dec. 13, 2014
Vernon Dale Griffin of Crawfordsville passed away from Cancer on Saturday evening at home. He was full of life at 60 years of age.

Born January 6, 1954 in Indianapolis, he was the son of Chester B. Griffin and Lillie Ruth Gray Griffin. He attended Washington High School. On Jan. 21, 1989, he married Debra Lynn Kiger in Crawfordsville.

Raymond Wendell "Windy" Runyon Jan. 17, 1932-Dec. 13, 2014
Mr. Raymond Wendell "Windy" Runyon, 82, Crawfordsville,passed away in his home on Saturday at 9:25 a.m. He was born Jan. 17th, 1932, in Alamo, to Raymond L. and Nancy (Foss) Runyon. He married Barbara E. Crane on March 4th, 1962, in Crawfordsville. She survives.

Mr. Runyon retired from Mid States Wire where he had worked for 42 years as a Wire Drawer and Pettybone Operator. He was a U S Navy Korean War Veteran; he attended Alamo Schools and the New Market United Methodist Church; loved auto racing and A. J. Foyt; also loved football, I.U. Basketball, and traveling.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter: Stacy Rae Burkhart, New Market; brother: Earl Dean (Beverly) Runyon, Hammond; sisters: Wandalene Smith, Rockledge, Fla.; Marilyn Nelson, Dyer; Lois (Loren) Smith, Loveland, Colo.; and Marcheta (Bob) Dixon, Crawfordsville. Also surviving are grandchildren Chandler and Taylor Burkhart.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Don Runyon; and nephews, Terry and Greg Runyon.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Powers-Priebe Funeral Home with Rev. William Pike officiating. Burial will follow in the Alamo Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Military Rites will be conducted by the U.S.Navy and the Crawfordsville VFW and American Legion Honor Guard. Donette Ruth Blanks-Lung, 53 of West Lafayette, died unexpectedly in IU Health Hospital, Lafayette, on Tuesday. She was born in Fort Wayne on Feb. 1, 1961, daughter of the late Donald and Willa Beasley Blanks. She married Dennis Lung on May 5, 1990 in Las Vegas and he survives.

He was born March 3, 1924, in Montgomery County, to Walter F. and Opal (Bonwell) Sayler. He married Virginia L. Vail on Aug. 22, 1948, in New Market. She preceded him in death on September 11, 1993.

Mrs. Melissa Sue Harwood, 42, Crawfordsville, passed away unexpectedly on Friday at 9:21 a.m. in the Franciscan-St. Elizabeth Crawfordsville Hospital. She was born March 11, 1972 in Crawfordsville, to William E. and Carolyn S (LaFollette) Shaw. She married Kevin L. Harwood on March 14,1993 in Crawfordsville. He survives.
