Volunteers for Mental Health Collecting for Those in Need

For more than 40 years, the barrels and boxes scattered around Montgomery County have symbolized that Christmas is right around the corner! That’s because the Volunteers for Mental Health are asking their fellow community members to donate goods to help Montgomery County adults in need and make their Christmas morning brighter.

Theannual Gift Lift program for local adults in need is in full swing. Adults in community facilities are served including ASI, Caregiver, Through the Gate, Pam’s Promise, and Trinity Life Ministry, plus residents in  long-term care, recovery facilities and transitional housing.

Last year, the number reached about 360 individuals who received a large red bag filled with essential needs items plus a few surprises. Individuals in the community are invited to participate in this large effort by joining in donating goods at any of the community collection points: all HHSB branches, Tri County Bank, Chase Bank, Gregg’s Corner Market (Waynetown), Darlington Public Library, Runnings, and Quest for Balance Wellness Center.

A list of suggested donations is provided at the collection bins.  You may also visit www.vmhmc.org for a complete list.

For those who wish to help the group purchase items that have not been donated, monetary donations may be mailed to VMHMC, P.O. Box 491, Crawfordsville, IN 47994.

Thank you for helping and making Montgomery County the great place it is!
