Dr. Scott Douglas Gets 2026 IRHA Doc Hollywood Award

Dr. Scott Douglas, Health Officer for Montgomery County, was named the 2026 Indiana Rural Health Association Doc Hollywood winner recently.

Douglas was nominated by Randy Hubach from Purdue University, who spoke very highly of Douglas’ extraordinary dedication to rural health, compassionate service, and longstanding commitment to the Montgomery County community. His leadership, humility, and tireless efforts to improve healthcare access and public health outcomes truly distinguished him among an exceptionally competitive group of nominees.

The Indiana Rural Health Association received 12 nominations.

Douglas will receive the award at the Indiana Rural Health Association conference June 24.

Prior to his appointment as Health Officer for the county, Douglas served as vice president of the Health Board for several years. According to the county, Douglas is a family practice physician with the Franciscan Physician Network – Crawfordsville Family Medicine. Douglas’ work also includes serving as a Wabash Student Health Provider and Medical Advisor for Crawfordsville School Corporation. 

Douglas grew up in Indianapolis and attended Wabash College, graduating in 1984 and was a 1988 graduate of Indiana University School of Medicine. He completed his family practice residency at Methodist Hospital in 1991. He then served three years in the U.S. Air Force, Dyess AFB, Abilene, Texas. He was chief of Family Medicine at Dyess and Flight Surgeon for the 9th Bomb Squadron. Douglas has been a resident of Montgomery County since 1994.
