The Flower Lover's Garden Club met on Wednesday at Milligan Park for the annual pitch-in and plant auction. Twenty-eight members attended.

President Priscilla Zachary recognized the refreshment committee of Margo Campanelli, Bobbye Thompson and Marilyn Nunan. The secretary read the minutes and they were approved.

Members brought covered dishes and the food covered three picnic tables. The weather cooperated and it was a gorgeous day for a picnic. Members also brought plants to be auctioned off. There were numerous plants and quite a variety. Mary Beth Kussmaul and Anita Arnold were the auctioneers and did a good job of describing all plants. This is one of our major money making operations and we did quite well.

The upcoming Garden and Arts Walk on June 23 was discussed. Each member is to sell at least three tickets and they were passed out. Tickets also are on sale at Milligan's, Flowers & Things, ProGreen, Davidson's, Homestead, Crawfordsville Public Library and the Montgomery County Visitors Tourism Commission center. Tickets will also be sold the day of the show at the portico of the Crawfordsville Public Library. The cost is $10. The liaisons for each garden are in charge of getting name tags and informing their workers of locations and times. Members were encouraged to go on a walk-around on June 22 to familiarize themselves with the gardens and to bring their plants for the plant auction. Meet at St. John's Church at 3:45. Put plants in a plastic bag and put identification in a baggie. Marlene Simonds and Marilyn Nunan will price plants and they will be sold at the Dick and Lori Chadd garden.

Our next outing will be a tour of the Avon Gardens and Frazee Gardens and lunch at Boulder Creek on July 10. Meet at Big Lots at 10:30 for carpooling.
