Many of you are probably already thinking about how you are going to be a better you in 2019. The three most common New Year’s Resolutions are Spend Less, Eat Healthier and Exercise More. If you are like me you need to do all three. Which is why I have planned to teach three programs beginning in January to address these three goals.
Cooking Under Pressure
On January 11th I will be hosting a lunch and learn titled Cooking Under Pressure. Participants will learn how to use an electric pressure cooker, how to make healthy fast meals, and plan meals to save money on groceries. Join me on January 11th at noon in the Crawfordsville Library, Room B, for a tasty healthy learning lunch. Please RSVP by January 9th.
Dining with Diabetes
Dining with Diabetes is a diabetes education and cooking school for people with diabetes and their caregivers. Participants will learn carbohydrate management, cooking with less fat and sodium, portion control and meal planning. Class meets all 4 Tuesdays in February from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM in the Crawfordsville Library. Cost is $20 per person and $35 per couple. Come hungry because participants will be eating diabetes friendly dishes for dinner. Please contact the extension office by January 26th to register.
Matter of Balance
A Matter of Balance is an award winning program designed to manage falls and increase activity levels. The program teaches strategies to manage falls. If you have restricted activities because of concerns about falling or need to improve your balance and flexibility you should attend this call. Participants will be creating goals to increase activity, make changes in the home to reduce falls, and exercising to increase strength and balance. Join me Tuesdays in March and April at the Crawfordsville Library from 1:00 – 2:00 to exercise and reduce falls. RSVP by March 1st.
To register for one or all three of the programs contact the Purdue Extension office at 765-364-6363. I look forward to helping you spend less, move more and eat healthier.
