Without a doubt, the biggest annual promotion in Montgomery County is The Paper’s Readers’ Choice contest. It’s been going on for 15 years and draws a significant response year after year after year. This week’s question is another anonymous one – although I like having a chance to work, it’s hard to understand why people don’t want to put a name on some of these. But, it is what it is. So, without further ado . . .

Dear MAC,
How is the Readers’ Choice contest going this year? How many votes and when are the winners announced?
Hoping to Win!

Dear Hoping,
I hope you win, too, but since I don’t know who you are I can’t even go vote for you! And hey, you think you have it bad? Check out the category of newspaper columnist. Tell me if you see yours truly there? Hey, it’s not like Ask MAC is hard to spell. It’s six letters, for crying out loud! Don’t you think they could have at least given me a chance? But no, I-
Oh, I guess I’m getting a bit off topic.
MAC turned to Paper Publisher Tim Timmons (who ironically says avoid alliterations always) with your question. Here’s his response.

Thanks for the question – happy to help. As of Friday we have 588,723 votes and have not set a date for when the contest ends. OK, thanks, Timmons. And would it kill you to put ol’ Ask MAC in there? Next year? Maybe? C’mon!
And thanks Hoping for the question. Thanks to all of you for reading Ask MAC. Remember, if you have a burning question you need answered let Ask MAC know because MAC gets answers!
