Wabash College sophomore first baseman Jackson Blevins earned North Coast Athletic Conference Baseball Player of the Week honors after hitting .455 in five games last week.
Blevins collected 10 hits in 22 at bats for the Little Giants in the final five games of the team's spring break trip to Tucson, Arizona. Wabash won its final five contests as part of a 6-1 effort during the trip and an 8-2 overall mark this season.
Blevins, a transfer from Saint Joseph College after its closed in 2017, smashed eight extra-base hits in his ten total hits for the week with four doubles and four triples. He drove in nine runs and scored five times. Blevins went 3-for-4 at the plate with five RBI in the Little Giants' 15-4 win over Wheaton College. He finished with two doubles and one triple. He followed that game with two hits, ting the school record with two triples, in a 10-6 victory against Bethany Lutheran.
Blevins ranks sixth among Division III players in triples this season with three, trailing teammate Jared Wolfe who tops the list with four triples. Blevins is 12th in DIII in doubles with eight and 44th in RBI with a total of 18.
