Question of the Week:

Everyone knows the song, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer . . . But did you ever wonder why it’s “nosed”? Sorry, we digress! The real question we want to ask as we get into the spirit of the season is about the other reindeer. In previous versions, Donner has been Donder and even Dunder. Blitzen was Blixem. In the 1800s, the names in German became Donder (thunder) and Blitzen (lightning). And when Montgomery Ward and Gene Autry and others told or sang the story of Rudolph, it became Donner. So, inquiring minds want to know, what’s your preference, Donner or Donder? As far as we know, Santa may well take the results of this poll and use it to make his own decision, so vote carefully!
