  • Mr. and Mrs. Morrison

    Jerry and Kate [McQueen] Morrison of Ladoga will celebrate their 74th wedding anniversary with an open house on Saturday, Aug. 25 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at The Right Track Banquet Hall. They were married Aug. 27, 1944 at the First U. B. Parsonage in Crawfordsville by the Rev. George M. Anderson.
    The couple have five children: Peggy (John) Rusk of New Market, Nancy Morrison of Ladoga, Tony (Brenda) Morrison of Salem, Va., Sherry (Kent) Reynolds of Lake Holiday and Tim (Lori) Morrison of Smyrna, Tenn. They also have eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. 
    A graduate of Ladoga High School, where he played baseball and basketball, Jerry is a charter member of the Treeing Walker Association, while Kate, a graduate of Crawfordsville High School, touches the hearts of all she encounters. They have been actively farming in Montgomery County their entire married lives.

  • Mr. and Mrs. Allen

    Eddie Allen and Marilyn [Seybold] Allen of Crawfordsville are celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary. They were married on August 1, 1953.
    They were married in Wingate by Rev. Horace McBride. 
    The couple has six children: Brad (Linda) Allen, Cindy (John) Roberts, Pam (Terry) Stephens, Sally (Brian) Delks, Kelly (Mike) Cain all of Crawfordsville and Curt (Debbie) Allen of North Port, Florida.
    The Allen’s have 12 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
    Mr. and Mrs. Allen celebrated the occasion at the Covington Beef House with their children.

  • Mr. and Mrs. Ferguson

    Bill and Sheena (Brown) Ferguson of Waveland will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house on Saturday, Aug. 18 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Browns Valley Christian Church. 
    They were married at Frankfort in the Wesley Manor Chapel on August 18, 1968. 
    They have three children, Brian (Angela) Ferguson of Orleans, Stacey (Steve) Paddock of Rockville, and Jason (Jill) Ferguson of Rockville. 
    They have seven grandchildren. Please omit gifts, cards greatly appreciated.

    Mr. and Mrs. Horace Tomey will celebrate their 70th anniversary on Nov. 9. Horace and the former Kathryn Nay married in Martinsville on Nov. 9, 1947 with Rev. Mark Casey officiating. 
    The couple are both retired, Horace from A & P and Kathryn from Kroger. They are members of Woodland Heights Christian Church. 
    They are the parents of Kathy (Neil) Hubbard of Lake Holiday, and the late Rob Tomey. A daughter-in-law, Cindy Tomey, resides in Crawfordsville. 
    They have three grandchildren, Sean (Kristina) Tomey of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; Kristin (Mike) Vallaly of Lake Forest, Ill. and Kathryn Peachey of Australia. They have seven great-grandchildren.

  • Mr. and Mrs. McCafferty celebrate 70 years

    David Lee McCafferty and Margaret Jane Eyler McCafferty are celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary. They were married at St. Bernard Church in Crawfordsville on Sept. 6, 1947 by Rev. Joseph Keating. They are the parents of Michael (JiYoung) of Bloomington, Brian of Crawfordsville, Patricia (David) of Bloomington and Daniel (Lisa) of Brownsburg. They are grandparents of Riley McCafferty and Delaney McCafferty of Brownsburg. David graduated from Darlington High School. He served as a Corpsman in the U.S. Navy during W.W.II. He retired from R.R. Donnelley after 42 years. Margaret Jane graduated from Crawfordsville High School, Saint Mary of the Woods College and Christian Theological Seminary. She retired from private practice as counselor/family therapist. They will celebrate with a family dinner at Turkey Run and on other special occasions with family and friends during the year.

  • Mr. and Mrs. Williams celebrating 50 years

    Bernie and Donna Williams of Lake Holiday will celebrate their 50th anniversary on Sunday, Sept. 10 with an open house from 3 to 5 at St. Bernard Church in the Holy Cross Hall social room. They were married at Sacred Heart Church in Clinton, IN on Sept. 9, 1967. 
    Donna has worked in the South Vermillion and Crawfordsville school systems for 40 years as an aide and assistant teacher; Bernie worked at J.I. Case in Terre Haute for 19 years and retired from Crawford Industries after 24 years in Crawfordsville in 2011.
    They are the parents of Bernie (Deanna) Williams of Crawfordsville, Scott (Julie) Williams of Raccoon Lake, Chris (Alana) Williams of Clinton, and Jennifer (Tom) Smith of Clinton. They are also the proud grandparents of Erin Williams, Nolan and Torie Williams and Jordan Smith.
    The couple asks that gifts are omitted, but cards and the presence of friends would be appreciated.

  • Pattons celebrate 50 years

    Larrie and Patricia (Young) Patton, Crawfordsville, are celebrating 50 years of marriage. The couple married on June 30, 1967 at Christ's United Methodist Church. Pat is a retired elementary school secretary of Crawfordsville Schools. Larrie is a retired Auditor with Indiana National Guard. The Pattons have one son, Josh (Melissa) Patton of Crawfordsville, nine grandchildren and one great grandson. Josh & Melissa Patton will be hosting a celebration open-house, June 24, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 1905 Lebanon Road, Crawfordsville.

  • Mrs. And Mrs. Fruits celebrate 65 years together

    Russell and Shirley (Walp) Fruits of rural New Richmond celebrated their 65th anniversary on Feb. 15. They enjoyed and appreciate all the cards and letters received.
    Both are graduates of Alamo High School. They were married in 1952 at San Leandro, Calif., while Russell was serving four years in the Navy. In 1959 he graduated from Indiana University with a bachelor's degree in management. He spent nine years with an ag chemical company, which took them to homes in Illinois, Tennessee, Michigan and New Jersey.
    They bought a closed feed mill in Fountain County in 1968, which eventually became Newtown Farm Service, now in its 49th year. They also established and operated Linden Pizza Corner for 22 years.

  • Kadingers hit 50 years

    Mr. and Mrs. Mike Kadinger will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on March 4. They’re planning a trip to Cancun later this year. The couple married on March 4, 1967 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church. The Rev. Msgr. Henry F. Ward officiated. 
    Mr. Kadinger is retired from the Crawfordsville Fire Department. Mrs. Penny Kadinger retired last year after 44 years of a child daycare in their home. 
    They are the parents of Karie Ash, Kasey Kadinger and Kyle (Rebecca) Kadinger. They are the grandparents of Bethany, Tyler, Kallie and Trevor Ash, Matthew and Hannah Kadinger and Coleton and Corbin Kadinger.

  • Hucksteps hit 50 years

    Otis Huckstep and the former Darlene Rae Pace were married at the Jamestown Christian Church by the Rev. Jack Van Arsdall on Dec. 24, 1966. They have two grandchildren and two adult daughters, Michele Huckstep Neary and Melanie Huckstep. They will be with their family not only for their anniversary, but, will get to enjoy being with them through the Christmas holiday. After their wedding they moved to Massachusetts where Otis was stationed at the Westover AFB for 4 years with TDY’s to Guam and Okinawa. Darlene worked first at the New Market Post office then went to the Crawfordsville Post Office for a total of 28 years. Otis worked in three different grocery stores here in Crawfordsville. He started with Standard Grocery where he spent 18.5 years, then Crawford’s Grocery, 9.5 years, and lastly, County Market, where he retired with a total of 42 years in the business. The Hucksteps are planning a trip sometime after the New Year rings in!

  • Bressies celebrate 65th anniversary

    Irving and Mary Bressie will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary on Sept. 30, 2016. They were married in Greenfield, Ind. on Sept. 30, 1951.
    Mrs. Bressie retired from Clements Roscher Insurance. Mr. Bressie retired from Conrail Railroad.
    Omission of gifts is requested, but cards would be welcome.
