A 72-year old Crawfordsville woman was critically injured in a house fire Wednesday evening.
When firefighters arrived at 316 N. Walnut St. a few minutes after 7 p.m. Wednesday evening, they found the front of the house fully engulfed in flames. According to Crawfordsville Fire Chief Scott Busenbark, they also learned someone might be inside. Firefighters went in the rear of the house and found the 72-year-old unconscious. She was taken to Franciscan Health Crawfordsville where she was listed in critical condition. She was later transported to Eskenazi Health in Indianapolis.
Crawfordsville officials said the house is owned by Clinton and Marilou Manion. There was approximately $10,000 in damages, primarily in the front part of the home.
The State Fire Marshal was called in. So far, no cause has been determined.
