Hurry over to the Crawfordsville District Public Library before it flies away! You don’t want to miss this amazing display by the Sugar Creek RC Flying Club! The display of unique RC aircrafts will soon be coming down.
Club President, Rex Everett tells us, "We're just a great group of guys who enjoy aviation." Everett says the group hopes to get more members involved and encourages the younger generation to join saying, "It's not just flying a toy. It's education. You learn patience, electronics . . . [and] a good realm of understanding aerodynamics."
Anyone who has an interest is welcome to join, no experience is necessary. Everett tells us there are plenty of seasoned RC flyers who can help train new members.
Club Treasurer, Dr. Mark Truax stated, "RC flying involves many disciplines; learning to fly, building, history, physics, engineering, mechanics, electrical work. It can be rather addictive. There are niches for any interest; scale flight, combat, racing, aerobatics, helicopters. It is a great activity for parents and children. Travel to meets for contests and just a fun day are also an option. The national organization with museum, contests, and many acres of flying fields is close in Muncie Indiana.”
