A respected retailer on the Montgomery County automotive landscape is closed, according to sources within the company. The Paper learned, Wednesday, that Horner Automotive Superstore has ceased operations at its 221 North Green Street location.
The venerable car dealership has provided more than a half century of service to generations of car buyers in Crawfordsville and surrounding communities. It first opened its doors in 1951.
Horner’s has specialized in pre-owned car sales throughout its history, but has also operated at times as an authorized new car dealership. The original dealership was known for years as Horner’s Corner used cars.
Owner, Sam Horner, could not be reached for comment at this time. Details of the shutdown are not being disclosed, but further information is forthcoming.
