Indiana Sheriffs and deputies will host a March 14 public hard-hat tour of their Youth Ranch, under development in West Central Indiana for future law enforcement officers, at-risk kids, young witnesses and victims of crime.
A briefing and walk-through will be part of the statewide not-for-profit’s second annual Founders’ Day celebration.
This year’s noontime event will be hosted on-site, 5325 N. State Road 59, in Brazil, Ind.
Students, parents, grandparents and law enforcement are welcome to the free event, which will include a traditional BBQ chuckwagon lunch and announcements of some major supporters about progress at the 62-acre training retreat:
A public signing of a long-term lease on the on-site K-9 academy, a repurposed veterinary clinic to be used by public safety agencies;
A new, national service dog program run in-part by Youth Ranchers and benefitting wounded military and law enforcement;
A cutting-edge, world-class cyber security training program for youth and adults; and
Real estate purchases—without the use of tax dollars—allowing 2019 groundbreakings on Youth Ranch cabins, trails and recreation areas.
Seating for the Youth Ranch Founders’ Day is limited. RSVPs are required. Phone: (317) 755-3602.
