A Crawfordsville man was flown to an Indianapolis hospital after being shot in the chest Monday night.

According to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Department, a report was received a little after 9 p.m. Monday that a man had been shot. That man was Josh Tribby, 40, of 2460 W 300 S, Crawfordsville.

According to the report, Tribby had driven his tractor to his barn when he heard a single gunshot. The shot struck Tribby in the chest and he drove the tractor to his home to call for help. Various units from Montgomery County Sheriff's Deputies, Crawfordsville Police, Indiana State Police, Waynetown Police and Crawfordsville Fire responded to the scene along with a crime scene technician from the Indiana State Police. Tribby was transported to Franciscan St. Elizabeth in Crawfordsville and then flown to St. Vincent's in Indianapolis.

His condition was unavailable this morning.
