There is a new gym on the East side of town. Ironsmith’s Gym will have a grand opening this Saturday, Nov. 9 starting at 9 a.m. The first 100 people to join will get a free t-shirt! Fat Bottom Donuts will be on hand and there will be a live radio broadcast.
Owner Gary Smith has a passion for fitness and wanted to start a business that would really make a difference in people’s lives. “I’ve seen the power and confidence fitness can have on people not only from a physical standpoint but from an emotional one,” stated Smith. “Additionally, I really wanted to offer something for shift workers so they could get their workouts in during those odd hours.”
Smith made transforming the space a family affair and his wife Suzie, an attorney at Taylor Chadd, Minnette, Schneider & Clutter Law, helped during the evenings as did the couple’s children.
“We spent a lot of late nights at the gym working to make it the way we wanted it. This has been a labor of love and we can’t wait to share our space with the public,” explained Smith.
The gym will be open 24 hours a day and members will enter after regular manned hours with a key fob. There is a wide variety of equipment. There is a cardio area, aerobics room which features different colors of light during class, TRX, Xfit, weight training, support and more. There is no enrollment fee and Smith is offering a 10% discount to students, firemen and women, and police officers.
“We had a lot of fun making this a place which will be comfortable for people of all fitness levels to work out. There is a space for kids to hang out and a coffee station- we want it to be a welcoming environment for people.”
Those interested can join online at anytime or stop in the grand opening and join there. You can also find them on Facebook. For more information, contact Gary Smith at (765) 592-1857
