One person is dead following a fatal car accident on State Road 32 East Tuesday. According to a release from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, two vehicles collided head on around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 2800 block of State Road 32. Police say that a 2016 Jeep Wrangler was being driven east by Sasha Clements, 51, Crawfordsville, when a 1999 Ford Mustang, traveling west, crossed center and collided head on with Clement’s vehicle.
The driver of the Mustang was pronounced deceased at the scene by a deputy with the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office. The name of the deceased is not being released at the time, pending notification of next of kin.
Needham said Clements had minor injuries and was transported to St. Franciscan by Crawfordsville medical personnel. Police say reconstructionists from the Sheriff’s Office and Indiana State Police are investigating the crash, but it is not currently known why the Mustang crossed into the other lane.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Crawfordsville Fire Department, Crawfordsville Police Department, Montgomery County Emergency Management and Indiana State Police.
