After 34 years of providing quality nursing care for its patients, Williamsburg Health Care of Crawfordsville will be closing its doors Aug. 1.
The announcement was made via a Facebook post from the Williamsburg Health Care Facebook page on Saturday. The post reads, “It is with a great deal of sadness that I want to share that Putnam County Hospital has determined that Williamsburg Health Care will be closing effective August 1, 2019. It was a pleasure caring for our residents and their families over these past 34 years. Staff of Williamsburg will be working with our residents and their families to make this transition as seamless as possible and find appropriate places for alternative placement. Respectively, Christina Houston, Administrator.”
Houston told The Paper that “Putnam County Hospital is the licensee of the facility and it is the decision of the licensee to cease operations Aug. 1.” She added she could not comment further.
Multiple messages Putnam County Hospital administrators were not returned as of press time.
Williamsburg Health Care was founded in 1985 by the Houston family. It expanded to its current standing as a 116-bed facility will full nursing-care capabilities.
