The Crawfordsville School Board met in a 10 minute session Friday afternoon to pass the 2015 budget.

"It's not a lot different than what we levied in the past," Crawfordsville Superintendent Scott Bowling told the board.

The tax rate for the 2015 budget is 2.1099, Bowling said.

The board passed the budget 3-0. Susan Albrecht, Steve McLaughlin and Ellen Ball voted in favor of the measure. Dale Petrie and Alan Plunkett were absent.

Bowling said that when Crawfordsville Schools presented the budget before the Montgomery County Council they received a favorable review.

Before the meeting Bowling told The Paper that Crawfordsville Schools did not have to RIF any teachers last year.

"It's looking like there won't be any RIFs next year," he said. "That's good news too."

Bowling said that the total budget is $23.2 million.

The school board meeting was exclusively covered by The Paper.
