The North Montgomery School Board approved revisions to the school corporation's social media policy.

North Montgomery Superintendent Dr. Colleen Moran said that the board approved the policy in the spring, but teachers did not receive the policy until after this school year started. She said that once staff received the policy it raised a few question" the policy.

One revision made includes that "when using social media for school purposes," no personal addresses or phone numbers should appear.

Another policy change is "photographs depicting inappropriate content should be used." The policy previously only identified photographs relating to alcohol or tobacco.

"All North Montgomery employees have to follow the policy," Moran said.

The board approved the revisions 6-0. Board member Michael Shepherd was absent.

In other action:

The board approved resignation/terminations/non-renewals for Carrie Runyan, para professional at Sommer; Cherlyn Hunter, para professional at Sommer; Matt Voorhees, North Montgomery varsity baseball coach; Jane Gallagher, media specialist at Pleasant Hill.

The board approved leaves of absence for Robin Stafford of Pleasant Hill, Danielle Dunbar of Pleasant Hill and Erin Frey.

The board approved the transfer of Katrina Bowling, food service employee, from Northridge to North Montgomery High.

The board approved contracts for Kayla Feuer for a maternity leave at Pleasant Hill, Mindy Morehouse for a maternity leave at Pleasant Hill, Carrie Wilhite as a para professional at Sommer, Wendy Whetstone as a food service employee at the high school, Kim Dolph as a food service employee at Northridge, and Cassi Morehouse as a substitute bus driver for the district.

The board appointed Scott Odle to the Linden Carnegie Public Library Board.

The board approved a field trip request for the North Montgomery FFA to travel to Franklin on Nov. 16 for a livestock judging contest.
