Mr. Delbert Thomas Hayes, age 68, passed away Thursday afternoon Jan. 10, 2019 at the home of his daughter. Mr. Hayes was born on April 3, 1950 in Franklin county, Kentucky at the home of his grandmother to Willie G. and Clara Jean (nee: Johnson) Hayes.
He graduated from high school in Richardsville, Ky. and shortly after he was drafted into the US Army and served in Viet Nam from April 1970 to March 1971, where like so many others he was exposed to Agent Orange. 
After his discharge he married the love of his life Anne Ladd in 1972 and she preceded him in death. 
Delbert worked for many years as a driver for Yellow Freight before he became ill. 
Survivors include his daughter Angela D. Hayes and her companion Richard Jeffers of Waynetown.; son, Michael Gordon and his companion Paula Rayburn of Wingate; step children, Kenny and wife Michelle Blick of Ky., Paul and David Blick of Bowling Green Kentucky and Tonya Saltsman of Madison. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law Lucille & Guy Cole of Richardsville, Ky. along with eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. 
Besides his wife, Mr. Hayes was preceded in death by his brothers, Earl, Gerald, Steve and Donny Hayes.
Delbert asked that he be cremated and to have his ashes returned to his home area in Kentucky.
