Earl O. Myler, Jr. 79, of Crawfordsville, passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at night at Indiana University Hospital East in Avon.
He was born July 22, 1940, at Alvin, Ill., to the late Earl, Sr. and Clara (Hall) Myler.
He graduated from Rossville High School and later attended the University of Illinois at Champaign and graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a bachelor degree in accounting.
Mr. Myler was the founder and owner of Myler Church Building Systems. Since 1980 his business built over 1,300 churches nationwide. He married Sandra Weston in June 1961 at Rossville, Illinois. She survives.
He was a member of Woodland Heights Christian Church and the Crawfordsville Elks Club. His interests included reading, studying Lincoln and Kennedy and piloting his airplanes. He had also written books about the church building process.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra Myler; daughters, Susan (Danny Kidwell) Gillikin, Cori (Billy) Hallett and Molly (Scott) Stockwell, all of Crawfordsville; grandchildren, Wesley (Dom) Fruits, Kayla (Cody) Rogers, Katie (David) Lopez, Lee Stockwell and Conner Stockwell; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Steve (Karen) Myler; sisters, Ellen Ervin, Pat (Gene) Herron, Robin (Jeff) Elliott and Dawn Davis.
Due to public health concerns, private services will be held Monday, March 23, 2020 at Burkhart Funeral Home, with Pastor Steve Wilke officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery North. A public Celebration of Life will be held later this year.
