Keith C Grimes
May 9, 1943 - March 24, 2021
Friday, March 26, 2021 4:00 AM
Keith C Grimes, 77, passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, March 24, 2021.
He was born May 9, 1943 in Crawfordsville, Ind. to Mabel and the late Donald Grimes.
Mr. Grimes was a 1961 graduate of Crawfordsville High School and proudly served in the United States Army from 1961-1965 stationed in Taiwan. In 2002 he retired from RR Donnelley & Sons after 40 years.
Always cheerful and happy he loved spending his time with family and friends. Mr. Grimes enjoyed playing games and cards, and always being on the go with his wife. He was very proud of his grandkids and attended every sporting event and school function greeting them with a big smile and wave. He spent many, many years coaching women’s softball to a good portion of the county. Somehow he also found time to build and fly model airplanes. Over the years Mr. Grimes has always enjoyed cars and go-karts, racing them, building them or participating in car shows.
Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Karen Grimes; his children, Brandi Evans, Kiley Wells, Tim Alexander, Kim (Mike) Cline and Melody (Danny) McClure; grandchildren, Jake Clark, Abbie Vaughn, Ava Wells, Michael Cline, Michelle Sering, Matt Cline, Heather Knight, TJ Brant and Alex Osborne; 10 great grandchildren; and sisters, Diana (Denny) Zimmerman, Nancy (Jeff) Hopper.
He was preceded in death by his father; brother, Kevin; and granddaughter, Christian Osborne.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life on Sunday, March 28, 2021 from 1-3 p.m. at Hunt & Son Funeral Home, 107 N Grant St. Crawfordsville, Ind. The funeral will follow at 3 p.m., with military rites by the American Legion and the U.S. Army.
Condolences may be left at: www.huntandson.com
