Neva Stephenson, 91, of Crawfordsville passed away Sunday night at home.
Born July 16, 1927 in Crawfordsville, she was the daughter of Herbert Chapman and Carrie Irvin Chapman.
She attended Crawfordsville schools. She married John “Jack” Stephenson on July 1, 1948 and he passed away May 18, 1987.
Mrs. Stephenson was a member of the Eagles and the Legion. She waitressed at several places and cleaned the schools in the summer, but had most recently and for many years, helped at the Eagles Club, checking ID for members at the door. She loved to play Bingo and go to gamble. She had attended Grace & Mercy.
Survivors include daughter, Becky Robinson; son, Howard “Chico” Stephenson; daughter, Sally (Richard) Cotten; daughter, Susie Johnson; daughter, Jackie (Terry) Smith; daughter, Lori (Tommie) Hall; daughter, Bobbi (Brian) Joiner; 29 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren; nephews, nieces and friends.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Rita Wise, one brother and three sisters.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 8 at Burkhart Funeral Home in Crawfordsville. Family and friends may pay their respects from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery North.
