LAFAYETTE-Crawfordsville's tennis team got a big win over a tough opponent Monday. They beat Lafayette Jeff on the road, 3-2.

Dane Baldwin and Juan Huesca got things going with wins at No. 1 and No. 3 singles, respectively. They both won in two sets.

Tanner Laughlin and Cameron Douglas jumped out with a first-set win, 6-4. But dropped the second set 6-7 in a tiebreaker. The Athenians rallied and took the deciding set 6-3.

Trey Barton and Reeve Hawkins had the opposite outcome at No. 2 doubles. They fell behind by dropping the first set, 7-5. But they battled back to even things up, 7-5. Lafayette Jeff was able to nab the deciding set at No. 2 doubles.

Crawfordsville (6-1) returns to action today at Lebanon in a match could decide the Sagamore Athletic Conference if the winner stays undefeated the rest of the year.
