Juan Huesca has stepped into the No. 3 singles position early on for CHS.
Crawfordsville's boys' tennis team kicked off its season against one of the toughest opponents it will see all year, the Avon Orioles. The powerhouse Hoosier Crossroads Conference squad got the better of the Athenians Monday night, 5-0.

Crawfordsville's top singles player and defending Montgomery County Player of the Year, Dane Baldwin, got off to a good start in his first match of his junior year. Avon's Ryan Lingle got the win in the end, however, 6-4, 6-2.

Crawfordsville failed to win a set against the tough Orioles.

The Athenians (0-1) get back in action tonight at Fountain Central.
