DOVER-The Crawfordsville boys' tennis team is in one of its toughest stretches of the season. They lost their second straight match to a Sagamore Athletic Conference opponent Thursday with a 3-2 final at Western Boone. The Athenians will now compete for third in the conference.

While Crawfordsville couldn't top the Stars, they got a win at No. 1 singles and No. 3 singles. Dane Baldwin, who has established himself as the conference's best player, beat David James 6-0, 6-4 at the top spot. Juan Huesca won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3 singles.

Crawfordsville (6-3) will go to the Lafayette Jeff Invite Saturday.
