Montgomery County golfers made it a clean sweep Thursday night as all three high schools teams won.

North Montgomery, playing at the Clover Meadows Golf Course, beat South Putnam 191-259.

Crawfordsville opened their home season with a 219-267 win over University High School.

Southmont edged Sagamore Athletic Conference foe Danville in a tight match on Warrior turf, 230-233.

Kennedy Bonwell was the medalist for North Montgomery, shooting a 45. Abbey Woodard and Megan Douglas were just behind her with 47s and Kristen Glass shot a 52.

"The girls played really well on a tough course we had not seen before," Charger coach Mark Shadiow said. "The course required a lot of shot placement, and I thought the girls did a nice job of scouting each hole before teeing off. We brought some confidence from (Wednesday's) good rounds that carried us through the match (Thursday)."

The Athenians also had a medalist, Olivia Grady. She shot a 51, just ahead of teammate Regina Go's 52, to edge the field. Shania Harrison and Katelyn Dixon rounded out the scoring with a 56 and 60, respectively.

"We played well," Crawfordsville mentor Roger Tribbett said. "We are improving but have a long way to go. I'm excited about this team and its future."

For Southmont, Heather Ruby led the way. She shot a 49, coupled with a 59 from Stazia Mikalik. Natalee Brann turned in a 60 and Hali Foxworthy rounded out the field with a 62.

"It was a tight course and the girls did a great job trying to stay out of the woods and water," Mountie coach Kayla Cooper remarked.

North Montgomery (2-1) is back in action Monday at Greencastle. Crawfordsville (1-1) plays host to Rockville Monday and Southmont (2-1) travels to Tri-West for a triangle meet Tuesday.
