BRAZIL-The Crawfordsville girls' soccer team shut out Northview in an 8-0 season opener victory Tuesday.

The Athenians went into halftime with a comfortable lead of 2-0. Crawfordsville head coach Brent Bokhart said, "I was impressed with our defensive organization and offensive spacing. It was a great start to the season and I'm proud of the effort the ladies put forth."

Hannah Whicker was the leading scorer for the Athenians picking up four goals while also logging one assist. Reilly Dunham was just behind her with three goals and Paige Schueren scored one. Schueren also contributed with one assist along with Maddie Hudson and Cali Saunders each recording one assist a piece.

The victory was a great start for the Athenians who start of the season 1-0. They will be on home territory Thursday when they face off against Delphi.
