Maddie Hudson and the Lady Athenians earned a draw against LCC.
Crawfordsville couldn't get the offense going, but the defense was stout as usual in a 0-0 draw against No. 17 Lafayette Central Catholic in Thursday girls' soccer action.

Both teams struggled to possess the ball, but the Lady Knights created many more opportunities. They out-shot the Lady Athenians 8-4 in the first half.

"We lacked spacing in the middle of the field and they dominated us in the middle," Crawfordsville head coach Brent Bokhart said. "We had our offensive end and our defensive end but never found the middle."

Crawfordsville weathered the storm and got some looks late in the first half.

The second half was more of the same. Central Catholic controlled the middle of the field and outshot Crawfordsville 4-1 prior to the final minute.

"They had a couple of solid rips, but Olivia (Cody) was outstanding)," Bokhart said.

Cody had 12 saves.

The Lady Athenians had a chance to steal the game when they were given a corner kick with 45 seconds left. Krystyn Flynn sent the cross into the box and feet flew as the ball ricocheted off of the goalie and several players before being cleared.

Crawfordsville (6-1-1) is at South Vermillion Wednesday.
