Crawfordsville got one final tune up in before their much-anticipated Athenian Invite this weekend. The Lady Athenians looked sharp once again as they took down Seeger in straight sets Thursday night, 25-11, 25-12, 25-13. Before the match, coach Kelly Johnson was presented a commemorative ball for achieving her 500th win recently at Crawfordsville.

"We were definitely in control of the match," Johnson said. "We'll have some pretty tough competition on Saturday and we are really looking forward to it. That will be our first huge challenge."

The Patriots didn't offer much resistance Thursday. Hannah Hungerford led the Athenians with five kills and leading spiker Kim Hampton needed just two kills to help get the job done.

The Athenians had 14 aces on the night with Bridgette O'Neill leading the way. She had four while Hungerford and Faith Fyffe had three each.

Crawfordsville (7-0) will start their invitational at 9 a.m. Saturday against McCutcheon
